Queensday!

Het is koninginnedag! Helaas werkt het weer niet echt mee dit jaar.
De kaart die ik gemaakt heb voor de Papertake challenge is geinspireerd op koninginnedag. Ik bedoel kijk maar eens naar de kleuren. En de cupcake is natuurlijk van de kinderen die hun eigengemaakte baksels verkopen op de vrijmarkt. Ik heb een heel oud embossing plaatje gebruikt voor deze kaart.
Ik hoop dat jullie ondanks het weer nog een hele leuke dag hebben!


On April 30th it is a big party in the Netherlands! We celebrate our Queens birthday. It is a national holiday and everywhere there is music, things to do and people selling their products. Unfortunately the weather is not really helping this year.
This card I made for the Papertake challenge is inspired by Queensday. The colours of the Dutch flag is red-white-blue. And another detail is that a lot of children sell cupcakes they made themselves on the market this day. I used a very old embossing template for this card.

Ismaki # 17

Vandaag hebben Leonie en ik een 'stempel dag' gehouden. We hebben wel elk 2 kaarten gemaakt! LOL
Het is zo leuk om te zien hoe we totaal verschillende kaarten maken met dezelfde sketch. We hebben beide de Ismaki sketch gebruikt. En dit is mijn kaart.


So today Leonie and I had a 'stamp day'. We made 2 cards each! LOL It is so much fun to see that we make such total different cards with the same sketch. We both used the Ismaki sketch and this is my card.

Make it embossed

Ik heb de distress challenge gewonnen en deze keer daagt Saturday's workout ons uit om te embossen. Ik heb mijn Fiskars template gebruikt om papier te maken met bladeren en ik heb de tekst met embossingspoeder gemaakt.


I won the distress challenge and this time Saturday's workout challenges us to use embossing technique. I used my Fiskars template to make an embossing with leaves. I also used embossing powder on the sentiment.

Seize the Cupcake

Katharina maakt geweldige sketches en deze keer heeft ze er eentje gemaakt voor de Papertake challenge! Elke keer als ik kaarten zie met cupcakes dan wil ik ook die stempels hebben. Gisteren vond ik ze bij Art Journey. Ik woon ongeveer 10 minuten daar vandaan en gisteren zijn we even langs geweest. Ik heb ook nog mooi papier gekocht.


Katharina makes great sketches and she made one this time for the Papertake challenge! Everytime I see those cupcake cards I really want to buy them. Yesterday I found them at Art Journey. I live about a 10 minute drive from the store and yesterday we decided to go there. I also bought some nice paper.

Ismaki #16 Girly but blue!

Een heel speciaal iemand krijgt deze kaart binnenkort. Ik heb de Ismaki sketch gebruikt om deze kaart te maken. Hij is ook perfect voor Tilda & Co. Je moet een kaart maken die meisjesachtig is met de kleur blauw. Ik had moeite om mooi papier te vinden dus heb ik zelf het papier maar gestempeld.
Er zit een gedicht in de envelop, maar die kan ik niet laten zien want anders ziet die persoon het.....



Someone very special is going to get this card from me soon. I used the Ismaki sketch to make this card. The card is also for perfect for Tilda & Co. You had to make a girly card but had to use blue.
I had some trouble finding the right blue paper so I stamped it myself.
There is a poem inside the envelope, sorry I can't show you but otherwise that special someone will know....

Cupcake Friday

Taylor heeft een Cupcake challenge elke vrijdag. De laatste keer heb ik alleen haar sketch gebruikt maar nu heb ik zelfs een stempel met een cupcake gebruikt. Ik vind deze Chichibouli echt helemaal geweldig. Haar naam is Matilda Muffinbread!
Je moest dus de sketch van Taylor gebruiken. Ik had alle stukken papier al gesneden toen ik er achter kwam dat ik niet een oranje inkt had om Matilda in te kleuren... Dus moest ik maar een beetje mengen. Niet echt het resultaat wat ik gehoopt had maar het is voldoende.


Taylor has a Cupcake challenge every friday. Last time I only used her sketch but this time I even used a cupcake stamp! I really love this Chichibouli. Her name is Matilda Muffinbread!
So you had to use Taylors sketch so I did. I already cut out all the pieces of paper and then found out I don't have a proper orange ink to use on Matilda... So I had to blend a little. Didn't turn out the way I wanted but it was ok enough.
The picture messed up the colours because irl the blue of the flower and the ribbon is almost the same.

Paperminutes sketchchallenge

Soms heb je gewoon een kaart nodig voor iemand en je weet dat die een Tilda achtige kaart niet zo heel geweldig vinden. Toen ik de challenge op Paperminutes zag moest ik gelijk aan mijn Morningstar stempel denken. Ik heb de bloemblaadjes uitgeknipt en met 3D foam geplakt.


Sometimes you just need a card for somebody and you know they are not really into the 'people' cards. I mean with a Tilda or Sugar Nellie etc. So I came upon Paperminutes and saw a a sketchchallenge where you had to use a big flower. I immediately thought of my Morningstar stamp. I paperpieced the petals.

Saturday's Workout - It's All Distresses

Het is zaterdag, in ieder geval nog een uur. Elk weekend zeg ik tegen mezelf dat ik iets in het huishouden moet gaan doen. Maar ik wil ook gewoon leuke dingen doen! Het is zo ingewikkeld. Vandaag heb ik flink schoongemaakt en mezelf toen beloond met het maken van een kaart.
Saturday's Workout is een nieuwe challenge blog waar alles draait om verschillende technieken. Deze keer is de techniek distressen. Dus ik mijn Heidi Swapp Edge-Distresser erbij gepakt en aan de gang gegaan!


It's Saturday. Well at least for a few hours. Every weekend I tell myself to do some work in the house. But I also want to do fun things! It is so hard!
So I did some cleaning and rewarded myself with some time to make a card.
Saturday's Workout is a new challenge blog which wants us to make a card with different techiques. This time it's distress. So I used my Heidi Swapp Edge-Distresser and distressed away!

Ribbon Galore

Lint. Ik vind het erg leuk om lint te gebruiken, maar ik kan vaak niet de perfecte lint vinden die bij het kaartje past. Dus ik moet denk ik maar wat gaan kopen he? LOL
De challenge op Tilda & Co is om veel lint te gebruiken. Dat was moeilijker dan ik dacht.


Ribbon. I must say I love ribbon but a lot of times I can't find the perfect ribbon for my card. So I guess I need some more? LOL
The challenge on Tilda & Co was to use a lot of ribbon. That was harder than I thougt.

The paper I used is from a craft kit I bought years ago in the USA.

Black & white

Hmm ik ben een beetje laat met deze challenge!
Arty Girlz vroeg ons een kaart te maken met zwart en wit. Ik had mijn kaart al een paar dagen geleden klaar. Maar ik heb geen digitale camera en had geen tijd om naar mijn zus te gaan om een foto te nemen.
Ik heb embossing poeder gebruikt op de stempel en de tekst.


Oh I'm kinda late with this challenge! Arty Girlz challenged us to do a black & white card. I did mine a couple of days ago but I don't have a camera. And I was so busy I didn't found the time to go to my sisters and take a picture.
I used embossing powder on both the picture and the sentiment.

Twins

Twee collega's van mij zijn de trotse ouders geworden van twee dochters! Ze zijn een beetje te vroeg geboren dus moeten nog een poosje in het ziekenuis blijven.
Taylor heeft een cupcake challenge elke vrijdag. Ik vond de #10 sketch erg leuk en heb hem gebruikt om de ze kaart te maken.



Two colleagues of mine became the proud parents of two baby girls! They were born to soon so they have to stay in the hospital for some time.
Taylor has a cupcake challenge every friday. I really loved the #10 sketch she made so I used it for this card.

Tilda

Iemand krijgt dit kaartje binnenkort in de brievenbus met nog veel meer in de envelop!
De sketch die ik gebruikt heb is van Prairie Paper&Ink. Ik vind het erg prettig om met een sketch te werken. Het lukt me dan in ieder geval om steeds een andere kaart te maken! Dus alle sketch designers bedankt.

Ismaki #14

Ik moet toegeven dat toen ik de sketch de eerste keer zag ik niet gelijk dacht van: Laat ik daar eens een mooie kaart van maken! Maar als je de andere voorbeelden ziet dan krijg je toch weer inspiratie. Dus uiteindelijk heb ik mijn papier, stempels en dergelijke bij elkaar gepakt en ben aan het werk gegaan! LOL
Welke sketch bedoel ik? Die van Ismaki en daar staan de meest geweldige sketches op!



Ok I must admit when I first saw the sketch I wasn't sure I was able to make a card with that. So I took some time to think it over. And finaly took my paper and stamps and embellishements and got to work! LOL
What is the sketch? Well it is from Ismaki and they have the best sketches!

Ik wil binnenkort mijn vriendinnen uitnodigen om bij te kletsen. En de beste manier om dat te doen is met thee! We houden allemaal van bling dus deze kaart is perfect voor ze.

Stitch me up

Tilda & Co heeft een leuke nieuwe uitdaging voor ons! Je moet iets naaien in je kaart. Ik heb geen naaimachine dus moest het met de hand doen. Ik heb een zwart en een roze draad gebruikt. Dit was de eerste keer dacht ik echt met draad naaide en ik vond het erg leuk!
Deze kaart is ook perfect voor Katharina. Zij wil dat wij een kaart maken met een scene. Ik verwacht niet dat ik win, want ik heb de laatste keer de High Hope Candy gewonnen!



Tilda & Co has a great new challenge! You have to use stitching in your work. Well I don't have a sewing machine so I did mine by hand. I used a black and a pink thread. This was the first time I did some real stitching and I really enjoyed it!
This card is also perfect for Katharina. She wants us to do a card with a scene. I don't think I will win since I won the last High Hopes Candy from Katharina!

Planes, trains and automobiles

De uitdaging op Cute Card Thursday is om een kaart te maken met een vorm van transport. Ik had geen stempel die daaraan voldeed. Maar toen ik terug was van de beurs kwam ik erachter dat deze stempel er perfect voor is! Grappig he?



The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is to make a card with some sort of transport. I didn't had any stamp with that. But after I came back from the fair I found out that this stamp is perfect for the challenge! Funny transport right?

Making waves

Gisteren ben ik naar Art Specially geweest met mijn zus en mijn moeder. Het was ontzettend leuk en ik heb natuurlijk weer veel te veel gekocht. Dus vandaag moest ik een paar nieuwe kaarten maken. Ik heb mijn nieuwe pons gebruikt om de schulpenrand te maken. Op Papertake is de challenge om een kaart te maken met 'waves'. Deze kaart zend ik hier voor in.



Yesterday I went to a stampfair with my sister and mother. We had a great time and I bought a lot and I do mean a lot. So today I had to make some new cards.
I used my new punch to make a scalloped border for this card. On Papertake the challenge is to make waves. I'm entering this card for the challenge.

New Tilda

Bij Tilda & Co moet je een nieuwe Tilda maken van twee bestaande stempels. Een erg leuk idee vind je niet? Ik heb de volgende twee stempels gecombineerd:



Zoals je ziet heeft Tilda met de broek nog wat stengels op haar broek. Het was dus even moeilijk stempelen, want die stengels kon ik nu niet gebruiken.
En uiteindelijk is dit het geworden:



You had to create a new Tilda with two stamps on Tilda & Co. That's a great idea! I combined two stamps (see above). As you can see Tilda has some stems on it, so it was difficult to stamp.

Ismaki #13

Deze week gaat een collega van mij trouwen, dus wilde ik een leuke kaart maken. Op Ismaki staat een hele leuke sketch en die wilde ik graag gebruiken. Het is niet een traditionele trouwkaart geworden en ik hoop dat ze hem leuk vinden.



This week a colleague is getting married so I wanted to make a nice card. There is a great sketch on the Ismaki site and I really wanted to make a card with that so I used it for this card. it is not a traditional wedding card and I hope they will like it.
