 vrijdag 31 december 2010

Debbywants us all to show us our:

Well here are mine in a random order:

I love this Magnolia couple. It really was perfect this year because iceskating (a national sport in the Netherlands) was being done a lot because of the cold weather.

This Hero Arts stamps is not being used enough I think.

I love the Magnolia paper and the colours of this card.

My first card using this HouseMouse stamp. I think this card was my favourite this year!

I really like the way the colouring worked on this High Hopes elephant, I used Derwent pencils (only once this year..)

Snow

 woensdag 29 december 2010

There has been a lot of snow lately over here. And that is not the average winter in the Netherlands. So I guess I'm feeling a little strange and kinda stucked in the house. I can walk into town, but that is not really exciting or go to my sister so that's what I did and we had a whole craft day. This is one of the cards I made! I used the Friday Sketchers sketch for it.

I used my new House Mouse stamp and my new BasicGrey papers: Curio for it. Also my new Nellie Snellen dies got used for the first time! So lots of new stash on this card.

Stamp: House Mouse
Paper: Curio paperpad by BasicGrey
Other: lots of pearls, dies Nellie Snellen, Kaisercraft lace, flowers, Magnolia flowerbuds, leavespunch, Twinkling H2O's

Raise your glass

 dinsdag 28 december 2010

It's almost the end of the year! I needed to make some happy new year cards for those I forgot to send a Chrismas card to but did get one from.
I chose the Just Magnolia sketch for it. Since it is still a busy time I kept it simple which is the challenge at ABC Challenge and the challenge at Papertake is 'anything goes'!

Stamp: Magnolia, other
Paper: Basic white by Basic Grey and another paperpad from Basic Grey
Other: organza ribbon, buttons, Twinkling H2O's, stickles, thread, rhinestones

DT BG & GDT SS: Sending Sunshine

 zaterdag 27 november 2010

This Saturday there's again a challenge at Basic Grey Challenges!
This time we have a recipe for you to follow.
4 Different Types of Embellishments
3 Different Patterned Papers
1-2 Images and/or 1-2 Sentiments

You really need to check out all the amazing cards the DT team has come up with.

And this Saturday is also my last time as a Guest Designer at Sketch Saturday.
Again a great sketch to follow. I really would like to thank Sketch Saturday for giving me the chance to be part of their wonderful DT.

I used the Marjolaine paperpad for this card. I really love these colours combined. The weathter is still not working with me so the pictures had to be taken with a lamp. And so the colours are not really the exact colours. I used three DP of the pack for the recipe. I also used four embelishments: ribbon, flowers, charm and pearls. And to finish I used one image stamp and one sentiment stamp.

Stamp: Tilda by Magnolia, sentiment Hero Arts
Paper: Marjolaine by BasicGrey
Other: pearls, flowers, ribbon, charm, leavespunch, borderpunch, nestabilities

Rain

 maandag 15 november 2010

Last saturday my sisters and I went to the Kreadoe, the largest craft event in the Netherlands. When we entered the first stand my sister Leonie said she was going to buy everything she thought was great. Well I gave it some thought and concluded she made sense. So the result is I bought a lot.... and I mean a lot. And Leonie????? She did not..... But I'm really happy with all my new goodies. I bought some new Basic Grey paperpads, new Magnolia stamps/flowers/paper (Magnolia was at the fair but unfortunately didn't bring their new papers and dies...), and lots of ribbon and other stuff.
I told myself I had to do my homework first and after I had completed that I could play. And the result is this card.
The light is so limited these days, by the time I get home from work it is impossible to take a decent picture. So sorry for the quality.....

I used the Friday Sketchers sketch for this card. I also used the colours from the Our Creative Corner Colour Challenge. The paper I used is my new BasicGrey Pyrus paperpad. And the challenge at
Magnolia Down Under Challenge is to make Shabby Chic card.

Stamp: Tilda by Magnolia
Paper: Pyrus by Basic Grey
Other: pearls, thread, rhinestones, Twinkling H2O's, Ranger distress ink, borderpunch, flowerpunch, flowerthings by Magnolia, flowers

My spare time is kinda limited these days so I had to combine my DT duties.
Not a lot of craft time the last couple of weeks. I really had to plan it in my scedule. But I do have something great today. I'm going to the Kreadoe in Utrecht together with my two dear sisters! The Kreadoe is the largest craftfair in the Netherlands so I know I will have a great time. I promise I will tell about all the great stuff I plan on buying!

Stamp: House Mouse Dragonflying

Guest Designer Sketch Saturday

 zaterdag 6 november 2010

Can you believe I've been asked to be new Guest Designer for Sketch Saturday this month! Sketch Saturday was one of the very first challenge blogs I entered so I must have used their sketches lots and lots of times!
This time the sketch has been made by the lovely Leonie as some also now is my dear sister. I really enjoyed working with this sketch.
I actually made two cards with it. I found the first card so not up to the Sketch Saturday standards so I made another one... LOL But this one I really like.

Beacause the Magnolia paper has lots of white around the edges I find it sometimes hard to work with. I don't like a big white edge on one side of the card and clean edges on the other ones. So I cut a lot of it off and used a white paint dabber to also get the white edges on the othes sides.
So now it is up to you to give it a try! You can also win some really great stamp sheets so hop over to the Sketch Saturday Blog and get more inspired by the DT.

Stamp: Magnolia, sentiment Hero Arts
Paper: Magnolia and cardstock
Other: Twinkling H2O's, leaves punch, Nestabilities, Perlenpen, pearls, flower, button, stickels, paint dabber

Excuses

 zaterdag 30 oktober 2010

This week I had a fall break and my intentions where to study.... I started my Master of Economy this year and this Wednesday I will be having my first examn. But to be honest I kept finding excused not to go and study. So I made a couple of cards this week and I'm feeling pretty guilty. I did study don't get me wrong but I could have done a better job at it.
Ok now lets get the details about the card. I used the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You for it and I also got inspired by the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where they want you to use punches and dies.

I paperpieced the girls dress, which is hard to see because it is a very subtle colour (same as the leaves).

Stamp: Hero Arts Four Dolls (image and flowerborder)
Paper: Prudence collection by Crate Paper
Other: Nellie Snellen Multidies, leavespunch, diecuts by Crate Paper, ribbon from stash, embossingfolder

Basic Grey DT: sketch

Yes it's Saturday again! Time for a brand new challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges! This time the wonderful Heather has made a sketch for us.

So now it is up to you all to make something fantastic using this sketch!
This is the card I made using the sketch:

I used some old Basic Grey papers: Vagabond. I've read on the Basic Grey site that they are releasing the Vagabond collection again as a vintage paper pack! I love these papers especially when making a 'male' card!

Check out the Basic Grey Challenges Blog for all the great cards the DT girls have made. I love it when we do a sketch because it really shows all the different styles the DT members have.

Pink

 zondag 24 oktober 2010

The Just Magnolia Blog is promoting Breast Cancer Awareness month through their challenge which is: Think Pink! I embrace this and wanted to make a pink card. I used the Friday Sketchers for it. The challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog is to use a recipe or food element in the card. I've put a recipe inside the card but wasn't able to take a picture because the weather is strange today and I cannot find the good light to take pictures...

I guess me being part of a DT (want to know more about that great story? check it out **here**) has inspired me to make more cards. I wanted to use this wonderful Magnolia paper for such a long time but didn't know what to do with it. And suddenly I had inspiration!!
The Simon Says Stamp Challenge is to make an Autumn card. So I HAD to use these papers!! I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for it.
And since practically everything is Magnolia I also want to enter the card in the Just Magnolia challenge.
I've put some 3D foam under the mushrooms to make them pop some more. Couldn't find a sentiment so I just wrote it myself.

Stamp: Magnolia Tilda and mushrooms
Paper: Magnolia
Other: Twinkling H2O's, Perlenpen antraciet, ribbon, glasspearls

Design Team Basic Grey Challenges

 zaterdag 2 oktober 2010

I have some great news!!! I've been chosen to be part of the Basic Grey Challenges Design Team!

I love Basic Grey and have lots and lots of BG products. And the Basic Grey Challenges blog is a great challenge blog. There is a challenge on Saturday twice a month and the regular sponsor is Simon Says Stamp. The DT is so great and I felt welcome immediately.

This time the challenge is: Sparkle

That's an easy challenge isn't it?

I've decided to do a Christmas card. I used Tilda and coloured her with my Twinkling H2O's. I also used my H2O's on the Maya Road Chipboard swirls. It is hard to see but they really do sparkle.

Stamp: Tilda Magnolia
Paper: Boxer Basic Grey paperpad
Other: lace ribbon, Twinkling H2O's, rhinestone brads Crate Paper, Perlenpen brown and creme, chipboard Maya Road

 zondag 26 september 2010

I needed two! weddingcards this time. Two of my collegues got married together and mys sisters friend got married. I liked the Friday Sketchers sketch because it is simple, perfect for a wedding card! One I did in the traditional black and white. But my sister also used these papers for her wedding card so for that friend I decided to do something untraditional. I stamped the couple's initionals in the corner.

Stamp: Heidy Swapp alphabet stamps
Paper: black & white: Making Memories Wedding paper
other one: Cosmo Cricket Everafter
Other: Cuttlebug embossingfolder, pearls, ribbon, element card Cosmo Cricket

Celebrate

 maandag 6 september 2010

Nou missie volbracht!

When I saw the Friday Sketchers's sketch I knew I wanted to make a card with it. Mainly because it had lots more layers than I normally use. The challenge at Basic Grey Challenges is to do some paperpiecing, so I paperpieced Tilda's dress. I think Magnolia stamps are the first 'cute' stamps I bought and I still love them, and this one is a real old Tilda! Just Magnolia let's us do an 'anything goes' card and Stamp Something wants a cute card. Well this is cute!

Stamp: Magnolia, sentiment: 7Gypsies
Paper: Sultry Basic Grey
Other: flowers, border punch, stickles, Twinkling H2O's, leave punch, rhinestones

Vintage Summer
